Dr. Amita Maheshwari is a Professor and Head of Gynecologic Oncology at Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, India. She is the immediate Past President of the Association of Gynaecologic Oncologists of India (AGOI). Dr. Maheshwari has co-edited four books on - Cervical cancer, Ovarian Cancer, Uterine Cancer and Evidence Based Guidelines for Gynecological Cancers. She is the Principal Editor (India) for the Journal of Gynecologic Oncology (Official Journal ASGO) and the Associate Editor, Indian Journal of Gynecologic Oncology. She has authored twenty-five book chapters and published more than 125 scientific articles in peer reviewed Journals. Dr. Maheshwari is the Principal Investigator on many ongoing research studies including a phase III RCT on HIPEC/NIPEC in advanced ovarian cancer and sentinel lymph node biopsy in high-risk endometrial cancer. She has delivered many orations and guest lectures. Her primary areas of clinical interest are gynecologic cancer surgery including surgeries for advanced ovarian cancer, Robotic surgery and onco-fertility.
